5 questions with Rebirth: The Doll director, Bobby Vu at the half-way mark.

1Hi Bobby! Thanks for being a part of our film festival. First what was the initial seed that inspired you to make this film? It was a prequel to one of my previous short film Rebirth Paris where my character carries around The Doll. This film is just a short story on how The Doll became to be.
2This film feels very intimate and real. How did you meet Elizabeth Wheeland and what was your process like working together? I've done a couple photoshoots with Elizabeth and we vibe really well so this project was very fun and organic. Elizabeth is a natural.
3It looks like you have a very strong photography background. Did you start in photography and then move into film or was film always your passion? I actually started off as a film director but found out that the filmmaking process can be extremely time consuming and expensive. I've also was raised up being around the fashion world so it was only natural for me to pick up a DSLR and photograph. Photography is something to compliment my filmmaker eye. If my images didn't look cinematic, there would be no point for me to photograph.
4What's the film that made you want to become a filmmaker? That's a good question! I'm surprised no one has actually asked me this. The film I grew up with was Conan the Barbarian and Ridley Scott's Legend. It was always my dream to create films ever since.
5What's next? Never stop filming and photographing.
